Venue: Obuda University
The innOtdk competition, held for the first time this year, was a great success. Students and high school students registered to the 37th OTDK were eligible to apply. The aim of the program is to give authors of projects containing innovative elements the opportunity to receive mentoring and financial support, enabling them to carry out their research. The initiative aims to motivate young people in the long term to engage in projects within the framework of TDK that may be marketable or socially useful.
The Finals the I. innOtdk competition announced by the National Association for Student Research (OTDT), together with the Hungarian Association for Innovation (MISZ), the John von Neumann Computer Society (NJSZT) and the Hungarian Innovation Agency (NIÜ) in March 2025, were held on October 17, 2025, at Óbuda University.
Of the 80 applications received in the first round, the 28 most promising and innovative research projects competed in the Finals, which not only hold promise for short-term marketability, but in many cases also demonstrate outstanding social utility. The young researchers presented their work to the professional jury and interested parties through an exhibition and presentation. Following the presentations, the jury selected the nine best projects, which competed in the final round for the innOtdk Grand Prize and the innOtdk Award. The leaders of the cooperating organizations, OTDT, MISZ, NJSZT, and NIÜ, emphasized that the projects that made it to the Finals represented outstanding scientific quality and had high feasibility potential, so a decision was made to award additional special prizes. The audience was able to vote online in advance for videos presenting the finalist projects, from which the project receiving the most votes was awarded the Audience Award.
