Presidential Welcome

Welcome, dear Reader!

The most important mission of a professor is to recognize the potential in young people, make them aware of their own talents, and help them develop those talents. The task of talented students is to seize the opportunity and work for their future. The value of the Association for Student Research (TDK) lies in the fact that it provides an institutional framework for this common endeavor.

In my opinion, the highest form of talent development is the support of student research. Students who participate in TDK have the advantage of learning scientific methodology and critical data analysis, enabling them to make independent decisions while collaborating with others. They become truly good professionals, regardless of whether they later work as researchers, university lecturers, or in other fields. In TDK, they become part of a community where knowledge and love multiply, and this is what drives them and their environment forward.

TDK has been an integral part of Hungarian higher education for more than 70 years and is considered a true Hungarian heritage, as this activity does not exist in such an organized, institutionalized form in any other country.

The task of the National Association for Student Research (OTDT) is to help professors and talented young people to carry out TDK activities and thus create something together. The foundation of TDK is young talents and their mentors, the commitment of the entire TDK community, and our responsibility is to ensure that the necessary conditions are in place.

Without young people and without renewal, the future of TDK is unimaginable. Without TDK and without supporting talented individuals, a successful, functional shared future would be inconceivable.

That is why I encourage all dedicated professors and their mentees to build TDK together and keep the flame alive!
